Abstract

The study of literature is one of the pressing issues of modernity, where relationships and national values play a crucial role in society. Awakening an interest in literature, forming and developing a student's desire to read fiction is a challenge for the contemporary teacher. The teacher's task is to engage students in reading fictional works. This article reflects on the ways of shaping the moral qualities and national values of students through the reading of fiction and the acquisition of the spiritual wealth of generations. In today's educational landscape, filled with new technologies and methods, the teaching of Kazakh literature should be grounded in innovative educational ideas. The teaching of literature must acquire a new quality. As an example, the author provides an explanation of the formation of literary competencies and the practical application of new possibilities. Primarily, the author emphasizes that Kazakh literature should be based on the theories of methodologists. The results of these works contribute to the improvement of the quality of literature lessons, instilling national values in students based on comprehensive analysis, mastering the richness of the Kazakh language, understanding the functions of its artistic means, and developing students' personal qualities through the portrayal of historical figures. The article outlines the paths of developing comprehensive competence in students during literature lessons using new tools. The communicative register is currently a means of determining the positions of the characters in a work. These five registers are presented as tools for research when reading literary works (for their methodological value, a reference to the works of Bulatbayeva K.N. is provided). Students initially grasp the significance of reproductive, informational, generative, volitional, and reactive registers, identify them in literary texts, and determine their role in revealing the idea of the work. Selected results in the form of a table are provided at the end of the learning process. It is proven that students acquire comprehensive competence in literature lessons, enhancing their interest in reading works.
