This article addresses the issue of optimization educational homework for high school students. The subject of consideration is the process of optimizing the content of homework in accordance with the maximum permissible time standards for its completion. The goal is to develop and test a methodology for determining the content of homework in English in high school in accordance with the maximum permissible time standards for its completion. The article discusses the issue of what is the recommended time in Kazakhstan for completing homework, defined in the Sanitary Rules “Sanitary and Epidemiological Requirements for Educational Facilities.” The question arises: How to determine the time spent on completing homework on a conditional object and its specific content, taking into account these time costs? The article presents examples of home tasks with descriptors. Work on compiling homework showed that the learning process will be more effective and health-saving if the teacher in the educational process implements methods and techniques aimed not only at optimizing the content of the lesson, but also at optimizing the content of homework.
