The main tool of teachers in the field of education is a textbook. Textbooks also have a great influence on quality education of the future generation. One of the requirements for the content of textbooks is the systematic use of terms. The purpose of the article is to determine the level of use of the terms approved by the state terminological commission in textbooks. According to this purpose, in the article the main terms of the school textbooks "Information and communication technologies" 4th grade, "Informatics" 5th grade, "Informatics" 6th grade, "Informatics" 7th grade (Almatykitap publishing house), "Informatics" 7th grade (Atamura publishing house), "Informatics" 7th grade (Arman – PV publishing house) were compared with the approved terms on the termincom.kz site, that is, in the Kazakh language termbase. As a result of the comparison, the following problems were identified: the approved terms related to the field of informatics in the termincom.kz database are not used in the textbooks, but other versions are used, some terms in the textbooks related to the field of informatics are not included in the termincom.kz database, the Russian language terms are written first in the textbooks, and the Kazakh terms are written in parentheses, the Russian language the use of one term in the Kazakh language instead of two terms denoting different concepts. In order to avoid such problems, terminologists and industry experts should work together and approve the terms. In the process of writing a textbook, authors should pay attention to fixed terms and develop the skill of using them. If the term cannot fully describe the concept and meaning, the authors should submit their proposals to the state terminological commission. When examining the written textbooks, it is necessary to emphasize the terms in order to preserve the basic scientific content of the subject.
