Abstract

The digitalization of various aspects of social and human life is characterized by the strengthening of artificial intelligence in the field of information technology. In the future, competencies related to artificial intelligence will be in demand by professionals of any profession. In this regard, the issue of teaching the basics of artificial intelligence in school is becoming increasingly relevant among scientists and teachers. At the same time, due to the inclusion of questions on the basics of artificial intelligence in the UNT (National Unified Testing) questions, this topic needs to be studied. This article reviews and analyzes the content of teaching the basics of artificial intelligence in school computer science. It has been determined to what extent there is a need to teach the basics of artificial intelligence in school computer science when teaching middle school students in the modern education system. During the study, questionnaires from 20 computer science teachers and 40 school students were collected and analyzed. Based on the results of the study, the level of students’ knowledge of the basics of artificial intelligence was examined and it was shown that their interests are at a high level. At the same time, in school computer science, the need to teach the fundamentals of artificial intelligence was identified, and it was also determined that design tasks should be included in the teaching of the fundamentals of artificial intelligence.
