Lesson planning is a complex and integral part of the teaching process. The importance of the relationship between the quality of the lesson and the effective teaching process has been widely recognized by researchers in many previous scientific papers in the field of lesson planning and preparation. Therefore, the development of planning skills among teachers is a key factor for improving the effectiveness of teaching process. In this regard, this article is an introduction to the main theoretical foundations of effective planning and preparation of lessons in the form of a review of international literature and empirical research. This article also discusses various practical strategies based on the theoretical and empirical findings of previous research and proposes recommendations for creating an effective and successful educational process. In addition, this article provides information about approaches and types of lesson planning that will help current and future teachers to familiarize themselves with the various forms of organization of the lesson stages, thereby developing an understanding of teaching at a deeper level.
